Granny's Tomato Soup.

[edit]

I understand that Campbells produces the The Granny's Soup range. Why is Granny's Tomato Soup no longer available in the UK? 77.100.27.20 (talk) 13:06, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

When any large company stops selling any product, the reason from the company's point of view is money. They didn't sell enough of the soup to make the kind of profit they wanted to make from it, or the factory that produced that particular flavour was not profitable enough and was shut down, or whatever. Sometimes the answer "money" is actually the result of a problem with a different product, or with changes in regulations, etc., and the cancellation can be seen as a sort of accidental casualty - but in large companies it's extremely rare for the ultimate answer to be anything other than money.
In very small companies - for example if it had been a real granny making soup by herself - then other answers become more likely. But even then, it often comes down to money. TooManyFingers (talk) 17:49, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BPA

[edit]

The "Health issues" section mentions tests in 2009 for bisphenol-A. Presumably that paragraph needs updating, due to industry-wide responses to the BPA issue that followed its recognition by the public. TooManyFingers (talk) 17:23, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
